I can't tell that there is any difference, although perhaps "burr" is
more often used when describing flash inside a hole or void or along a
cutoff as opposed to along the main outside parting line. The term burr
is often used in the industry in referring to the mold itself which may
have burrs left by machining and which leave retraction marks or scars
on a molded part, or which may make ejection more difficult.
