I always wonder if a sound engineer is different from an audio
engineer.
Also, is there anyone called noise engineer.

There are federal regulations on how much noise a commercial airplane can
make while landing and taking off. If these requirements aren't met, the
airline if fined every time they exceed the limit. This means that Boeing
has noise engineers that can tell you within 1/2 db exactly how much noise a
new airplane will make 2 years before it is ever built. Pretty amazing
really.
