I am wondering if one can make a UFO just by continuously moving the
center of gravity up? So, supposing a UFO had a moving ring, and there are
magnets on the track that meet the magnets on the moving ring, and this
simultaneous force kicks the ufo up the vertical axis?
Maybe this doesn't have anything to do with the center of gravity,
though. It seems more like the center of levity.

So what is the force going to push downward to
counterbalance the upward push? Is this ring going to stay
with the craft somehow?

I don't know. Really, this was poorly thought out.

Maybe an upward force could be balanced by an increasing mass of the ship
rather than a downward force.

Don't know how, exactly.
