I am taking a manual drafting class. Our project is to design a commercial
floor plan, and I have chosen to do a engineering firm. I'm looking for
some advice on how many offices I would need. My plans are to have 2
engineers, 8 technologist and about 14 technicians working at this firm. Is
that unreasonable? Who would be able to share an office. I need some
guidance, and if anyone is willing to help it would be appreciated.
Thank you

Here is what I think that you will need. This is going to be an engineering
office and there a minimums that will be required.

1. Reception area where a secretary will sit and meet visitors to the
office.
2. Two offices for the two principle engineers. ( What? No licensed engineer
designers or project managers? )
3. 25 cubicles for the technologists and technicians ( allowing for 3
added ).
4. A coffee room with a microwave, refer, coffee maker, sink and cabinets.
5. A print room where plotters, copiers and fax machines are located.
6. A room for computer server equipment. ( computers govern CAD etc. ).
7. Conference Room
8. Rest Rooms for Men and Women.
9. Storage closets or a storage room.

That's about it.

Good Luck.
