eye distance measurement tools

I am working on a project that requires a correct measure of
horizontal distance between eyes of various types of head sizes. So I
am looking for a tool that allows to measure space between the eyes.
My requirements is that the tool is adjustable, and has a scale that
shows the spacing.

I appreciate any suggestions and help.

Wander on over to your local optician. They may have the tool you want,
because they do this measurement all the time.

Otherwise, you might just use a ruler and a bit of practice. Have the
subjects look straight ahead and get the interpupilary distance.
